SPL Champions Rangers have today announced that the opening league match of season 2011/12 against Hearts will be shown live on RangersTV.tv.

Rangers will unfurl the league flag before the Hearts game on Saturday 23 July, 2011 and the Club has gained approval from the SPL and SKY Sports to show the fixture live on its ground-breaking internet TV station. The Light Blues were leading the way in 2009 by becoming the first football club in the UK to launch a dedicated online TV station - providing exclusive in-house programming, daily news bulletins and live match action and highlights. Ali Russell, Rangers chief operating officer, commented: "We are delighted to confirm our opening SPL game of the season against Hearts will be shown live inside and outside the UK on RangersTV.tv. Our online TV station has gone from strength to strength since its launch two seasons ago and now our fans will be able to watch the league flag being unfurled and the Hearts match live on the internet anywhere in the world."
