Special-interest media group Future has announced the appointment of Jane Toft as editor for its new Mollie Makes magazine.

Toft moves into this full time role from her previous position as co-editor of the launch edition of Mollie Makes in May.

Her appointment follows the magazine’s announcement that it has broken the company’s own record for new subscriptions during its first month on sale, with over 3,000 subscribers before the second issue even hit the newsstand,.

With 25 years’ experience in magazine publishing Toft has worked with many major publishing houses in the UK. She was part of the small editorial team that started Future Publishing in the 1980s and was art director of Needlecraft - Future’s first craft magazine. She has more recently worked as senior designer at women’s magazine Candis, and freelance art editor across Future’s craft portfolio.

Reporting to Kerry Lawrence, craft group publisher, Jane will make sure that Mollie Makes consolidates on an amazing debut issue, continuing to grow both in print sales and via online channels, ensuring that Future retains a market leading position in Craft.

“I’m delighted to accept the position of Editor of Mollie Makes,” said Toft.

“I’m extremely passionate about the brand and will be working with an expert team to drive it forward and continue to bring fresh, inspiring craft ideas to our readers.”
