STV Local, the online and mobile news initiative launched by STV in September last year, is looking for a new editor following the departure of Iain Hepburn.

A job advert has today been posted on stvjobs.com saying the broadcaster is looking for an editor for its “ground-breaking hyper local initiative”, a role it describes as “the career opportunity of a lifetime”.

STV wouldn’t discuss Hepburn’s departure, stating that it doesn’t comment on individual employees.

Hepburn, who joined STV Local in September prior to its launch, was previously digital editor for The Daily Record and Sunday Mail. It is understood he has left without a job to go to.
