Newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror has said that the announced editorial redundancies being made at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail will not affect its online title Business7, and that its weekly freesheet The Glaswegian remains a part of its plans.

Yesterday the publisher announced that 90 editorial redundancies would be made at the Glasgow based tabloid as it aims to share national content with its sister titles, The People, The Mirror and The Sunday Mirror.

A spokesperson for Trinity Mirror said that the proposed redundancies would not affect Business7 and that The Glaswegian “remains part of the Daily Record multimedia newsroom.”

Last year the printing of Business 7 was placed on hiatus and then returned after a couple of months, only to cease publishing again in January with additional business content placed within the Daily Record itself, while the dedicated website remained.

The NUJ will meet with management later today (9 June) to discuss the proposed job cuts.
