Bristol-based design agency, Matthew Fairweather, has designed a number of promotional materials for Cardiff University’s Student Support Centre.

Materials promote the Centre’s services which include providing students with counseling and advice and guidance.

Matthew Fairweather has worked with the Centre previously; this time, the brief was to engage students in all of the University’s halls of residences across the city.

For the campaign, Matthew Fairweather produced iconography, illustration and layout that appeared in both English & Welsh.

Taking from the previous styles that it established for the Support Centre, the campaign aims to be a high energy, attention-grabbing and informative piece that raises awareness of sensitive issues that can be addressed through the fantastic work of the Support Service.

“The department wanted to keep the vibrant colourful illustrative style that we had produced previously and so this project was about consistency,” said Stuart Lee, designer at Matthew Fairweather.

“The styles used, such as contrasting colours and big blocky type are ones that we wouldn’t normally use for print, however the subject it covers is a sensitive one and we wanted to make it more engaging.”

“We’re trying to get students to associate the department’s various services, such as counselling and advice and guidance, with our design.”
