Solar energy firm The Big Green Company has appointed Rumpus Communications to raise its profile.

The Altrincham agency has been briefed to come up with "a strategic press plan" aimed at securing coverage in regional and national consumer titles.

Rumpus director Paul Evans said: "The renewables industry is one which has seen rapid growth during the last year, not just commercially but residentially, particularly following the launch of the Government’s feed-in-tariff early last year. We are delighted to be working with The Big Green Company in such a thriving industry.”

The Big Green Company was set up by Manchester entrepreneur Wayne Morris in 2007 and has bases in Cheshire, Cumbria and Edinburgh.
