Trueman hired by MasterCard for marketing role

Paul Trueman has been appointed as the head of marketing for MasterCard UK and Ireland.

Trueman replaces Gill Barr, who left the company to become group marketing director for The Co-operative group in January.

He was formerly the marketing director for LG Economics in the UK and Ireland, but left earlier in May due to a restructure.

Hany Fam, MasterCard UK and Ireland president, said: “We're working with both our traditional customer financial institutions and new partners – such as retailers and telcos – to get closer to the consumer and make their lives easier.

"With his background, we're confident that Paul is perfectly placed to help us leverage our insights and innovations to create new marketing propositions to surprise and delight consumers."

Trueman will take up the position on 13 June.
