Iconic brand SPAM to create Shakespearean-style advert.

With the catchline ‘Hammier than Ham’, the Hormel Foods tinned pork and ham product aims to use slapstick humour in a Shakespearian style advert, to be filmed in Middlesex.

The campaign, designed by London-based creative agency Underground BLC and produced and directed by Caboose, aims to supersede the ‘SPAM up’ adverts.

Although the advert is not yet released, a Hamlet-style image with the product has been made public.

Ant Phillips, head of copy at Underground BLC, commented: “‘Hammier than Ham’ is not only a way to describe the unique taste of SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham, it’s also a great vehicle to celebrate the distinct British brand of humour epitomised by the ‘Carry On’ style of comedy.”
