Parliament to debate BBC World Service cuts this week
As Parliament looks set to debate the cuts facing the BBC World Service this week, the National Union of Journalists has asked members to contact their MPs and ask them to attend the debate and support the service.
The backbench business debate, set to be held on Thursday, will be the main business of the day, discussing the cuts that face the World Service, as the BBC looks at areas of the corporation to cut following the long-term freeze of the licence fee.
The BBC is set to make many redundancies as it aims to cut spending on the World Service by 16 per cent.
