New regional marketing activity from Morrisons sees the UK’s fourth largest supermarket chain partner with Celtic and Rangers for a soccer camp promotion across 32 of its stores in the west of Scotland.

The scheme, devised by Billington Cartmell Scotland, is set to run throughout the school holidays, from 27 June to 5 August.

Celtic FC and Rangers will each run 3 specially-created, week-long, two-hour-a-day courses for children aged 5-14 at a location in Glasgow.

The course, normally costing £40, will be available for £20 to Morrisons shoppers who spend £40 for at least four weeks over a six-week period from 2 May to 12 June in participating stores.

The scheme is to launch with press advertising and in-store support incorporating PR activity at two flagship stores in Glasgow and point of sale activity.

Billington Cartmell Scotland Business Director David Guy said of the campaign: “We’ve created a grassroots football coaching promotion provided by two great Scottish football clubs. It’s a real win/win campaign; helping mum structure summer holiday activities and helping kids get healthy and active this summer.”
