IPC Inspire equestrian weekly Horse & Hound has today launched its first app for smartphones.

The Horse & Hound young rider app, which has been developed in conjunction with feed manufacturer Dodson & Horrell, is designed to help young riders get the most out of their year.

Searchable by county, it features fixtures lists covering nine disciplines – eventing, dressage, showing, show jumping, pony racing, driving, endurance, point-to-point and schools' events – complete with dates, details and maps.

The app also includes discipline-specific feeding advice from Dodson & Horrell, training advice, tips and pointers from other young riders and details on how to enter the young rider bursary.

Publishing director Simon Hare said of the app: “This brilliant app just goes to show that the equestrian market is ready to embrace new digital products provided they are really relevant to the audience and will genuinely help them in their everyday lives.”
