Vision+Media's director of skills, Lynne McCadden, is leaving the organisation to start her own media consultancy working with private and public sector clients.

McCadden has spent the last four years at Vision+Media and its chief executive, Paul Taylor, said she would leave "a fantastic legacy".

During more than 20 years in journalism and media production McCadden has worked with the BBC and been chief executive of Media Training North West for six years.

She said: "I’m very sad to be leaving Vision+Media but very proud to have been part of what the organisation and team there has achieved.

"It’s difficult times for many in both private and public sector, but with the onset of MediaCityUK, BBC North and Creative England, there has never been a more exciting or competitive time for the digital and creative industry in the North."

Taylor added: "Lynne will leave a fantastic legacy at Vision+Media. She has always championed the premise that that if you don’t invest in people’s skills you lose competitive advantage, which is true for companies, for regions and for cities.

"She’s worked with private training providers, industry and universities, to develop forward thinking collaborations which have directly contributed to us being a region of highly skilled and talented people.

"During the last four years she has developed a dedicated skills team that have made a real impact on how digital and creative freelancers and organisations view and access training.”
