Radio Four continued to build its reputation for on-air gaffes this morning. It was not quite as embarrassing as the time when James Naughtie famously introduced culture secretary Jeremy Hunt as Jeremy Cunt live on air, but still will have amused some listeners.

This time Labour Leader Ed Miliband was on the receiving end of a gaffe by presenter John Humphrys.

After a long interview – no doubt designed to build his profile as Labour leader – which discussed everything from AV, to immigration – Humphrys signed off with 'David Milliband' thank you very much.

Adding to the embarrassment was the fact that Humphrys has just interviewed Chris Patten, the new BBC Trust chairman, who was quizzed about protecting the BBC's high journalistic standards, as well as whether top talent should be paid less.
