FOX News affiliate defends itself after “Obama Bin Laden Dead” typo

A FOX News affiliate in Sacramento was in such a hurry to report the news of Osama Bin Laden's death that it forgot to sanity check the copy on its chyron, with breaking news from Fox40 reading “Reports: Obama Bin Laden Dead”.

Accusations were levelled at conservative leaning FOX News that the typo was deliberate, but FOX40 defended the slip saying it was an easy mistake to make, pointing out that CNN and the Modesto Bee newspaper had made similar gaffes.
