An app for department store chain Debenhams was launched this week which aims to promote its Beauty Club loyalty programme.

The app, but NNWM, has been launched for iPhone users and developed to offer users an enhanced experience with the customer loyalty scheme through its interactive features.

NN4M was tasked with design a ‘complex and multifaceted’ app which would simulate the chain’s in-store beauty experience and offer consultation features, as well as a range of membership benefits. These include the ability to check which nail varnish colours go with a person’s skin tone.

Simon Forster, online trading director for Debenhams, commented: “From long-lasting lipsticks to summer fragrances to face creams, our shoppers can now get their much- loved beauty products at just one finger touch. The app is about allowing to customers to shop with Debenhams whenever they want and from wherever they are. Again, Debenhams is leading the high street with our digital and mobile offerings, listening to what our customers want and reshaping the high street shopping experience.”

Also built within the app is a transactional beauty product search and fragrance finder.
