Daily Mail rumoured to be moving to same format as The Sun
News that the Daily Mail & General Trust is to contract out the printing of its national titles has prompted some industry pundits to speculate that the Mail may be considering a change in its size to echo The Sun.
The conjecture centres on the expectation that DMGT will appoint News International, publisher of The Sun, to assume printing of the Mail - a move which could entail The Daily Mail adjusting its dimensions to squeeze into the presses of its potential stablemate.
DMGT is expected to decide early next month on whether to proceed with contracting out work to News International, or to build their own press plant.
Speaking to PrintWeek a DMGT spokesperson said the firm “would not comment on speculation” and was “currently evaluating all the options”.
