The Royal Family may no longer have any dominion over their former colonies in the US but that hasn’t stopped a host of US television networks decamping from the States to take up residence in London for the Royal wedding.

To get the inside scoop however one broadcaster, CNN, has reportedly shelled out £60,000 to secure the services of Cat Deeley and Sharon Osbourne.

It comes as a recent survey by Nielsen indicates that US based coverage of the wedding now supersedes that shown on these shores.

CNN Worldwide have despatched 50 staff to cover the event, even though it will take place at 5am on the east coast and 3am in the west, an inconvenience which broadcasters hope to surmount by investing in digital applications.
