BBC Radio presenter Peter Rowell, who went missing last month for a brief time, has been charged with indecent assault.

Rowell, who presented The Afternoon Show for BBC Bristol and Somerset radio, has been charged with four counts of indecent assault dating back to the earlier 1990’s, having been detained earlier today and remanded in custody.

He will appear in front of Bristol Magistrates Court tomorrow (Saturday 23 April).

Fears were raised for Rowell’s safety last month after he vanished for several days, before being found in Cumbria.

Rowell has presented the Afternoon Show on BBC Bristol and Somerset since last May.
