Young Scot, the national youth information charity, has released a short animated film questioning how society perceives young people in Scotland.

The 'Perceptions versus Truth' film was created by Edinburgh-based agencies Stripe and Blonde.

Young Scot's communications director, Gregor Urquhart, said: "We tasked Stripe and Blonde to create an animation that would be thought provoking and help tackle stereotypes head on. The content of the video comes from running numerous sessions with young people asking them what they felt the perceptions of them were in society, but also what activities they were actually involved in.

“We wanted to show the nation that our young people are making a huge contribution to communities across Scotland and it’s important that we value and recognise the positive role they’re playing."

The charity hopes the animation will go viral with people passing the YouTube link on to friends.
