Games site Mousebreaker is launching a fantasy football game for Facebook, which it hopes will prove as addictive as runaway success FarmVille.

It has teamed up with Fantasy Moguls to create Mousebreaker Galacticos Football 11, which challenges players to build a team of real-life soccer stars and pit them against friends on Facebook.

Players can earn virtual cash or 'reputation points' to bolster their squad depending on how their team peforms.

Mousebreaker, which is owned by IPC Inspire, is pleging more than £600,000 of marketing support to promote the game to its four million users.

Kevin Heery, digital director for IPC Inspire, said: "As well as providing new revenues streams through virtual goods along with great sponsorship and display opportunities, it enables Mousebreaker to have a deeper and more engaging relationship with our users.”
