Manchester post house installs Smoke and Mirrors

New Manchester production house 19 has secured a deal with international firm Smoke and Mirrors which will allow northern creatives to use its post-production technology.

The newly-opened facility on Quay Street is installing the latest Resolve grading equipment and setting up a live video link with Smoke and Mirrors' Soho headquarters.

This means creatives in Manchester will be able to interact with colourists in London seamlessly. When the grading session is over post-production can continue without delays.

Gary Szabo, managing director at Smoke and Mirrors, said: "We've installed the same remote grading suites in Stockholm and New York and so have witnessed first hand the results. The technology is effortless - so much so that our colourist is in effect right there in the room with you.

"As we all know, the grading process is as much about the colourist as it is the equipment and that's why it's so important for us in teaming up with 19 to provide one to one interaction with our award winning artists."
