The inaugural 120 Hours (Of Digital Display) event held by the Internet Advertising Bureau saw augmented reality company String win the Artvertising Award.

The winning entry by String saw the use of a standard IAB multi purpose unit as the canvas which would allow users to view the work through an iPhone app, bringing a static image of a dragon to life.

The award was part of the IAB exhibition at the organisation’s offices which aims to celebrate creativity in digital advertising including digital campaigns from brands such as EA Emirates, Starbucks and Apple.

Jack Wallington, head of industry programmes at the IAB and curator of 120 Hours, explained: "The 120 Hours exhibition marks a milestone for the future of online and mobile display advertising. Digital ads have come a long way in the last ten years and our aim was to shine the spotlight on the near £1 billion industry to celebrate the effort and creative genius that goes into the perfect ad.”

The exhibition will run until tonight from 9am to 7pm.
