Players of Nintendo’s latest handheld gaming device have complained that retailers are refusing to offer them full refunds after reporting that the 3D effect made them feel queasy.

Some players have claimed that the flashing screen images, needed to create the optical illusion, have caused headaches and dizziness after prolonged use.

Refunds are being offered but the sums on offer, but these are generally around £30 less than the RRP, leaving many punters still feeling green around the gills.

Nintendo recommends that the device not be played by under sevens and urges players to limit 3D play to a maximum of 30min.

Thus far the Japanese gaming giant claims that individual retailers have reported only a single figure return rate.
