Rooney could miss three games following Sky Sports camera rant
Following his foul mouthed rant at a Sky Sport camera, Wayne Rooney is set to receive a three-match ban from the Football Association, a punishment Manchester United are likely to fight.
Following his hat-trick on Saturday against West Ham United, Rooney celebrated by ranting into a television camera, broadcasting live to millions around the world.
The charge of using foul and abusive language comes with an automatic two-match suspension for a player, but should the club's appeal fail, the ban could be extended to three games.
As a result, Rooney, who has until 6pm tonight to appeal, is likely to face a ban of three games, despite issuing a statement apologising soon afterwards.
