Nintendo UK’s head of PR and communications is to leave the company at the end of April, following seven years at the video game giant.

Rob Saunders played a key role in the hardware launches of the Wii and DS and most recently 3DS earlier this month, and was also responsible for fostering strong relationship with the mainstream media.

Nintendo UK marketing director Dawn Paine said Nintendo UK thanked Saunders for “all his hard work and huge contribution”.

She added: “I have personally enjoyed working with Rob immensely over that period and am I proud to have had him in my team. We all wish him the very best of luck for the future which will undoubtedly be stellar.”

It has not yet been confirmed whether Saunders has a new job to go to.
