NUJ 'demands investigation' into Daily Sport closure
The National Union of Journalists has called for a "full investigation" into the collapse of Sport Media Group, publisher of the Daily Sport and the Sunday Sport.
The union said it would be seeking answers "amidst claims that [the Sport's closure] had been caused by indebtedness and poor financial management of a paper that had been performing well in recent months."
Sport Media Group called in administrators on Friday after the publisher said it had become unable to pay its creditors.
NUJ officials will help staff and freelances recoup money they are owed. It is to hold a meeting of its members to "consider the next steps".
