Emails from staff at the News of the World, sent while Andy Coulson was still editor, have apparently been located.

The emails, from 2005 and 2006, have been found on an archive, and are expected to include mail sent from Coulson, as well as other staff implicated in phone hacking at the newspaper.

A police investigation is currently being led to find out who was involved in the practice at the paper, which saw the voicemails of many prominent figures and celebrities hacked into, including actress Sienna Miller, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and culture secretary Theresa May.

Emails to private investigators hired by the News of the World are also expected to be found.

Despite many staff being implicated in phone hacking, only one reporter, former Royal Correspondent Clive Goodman, has been charged and convicted - alongside private investigator Glenn Mulcaire.

Coulson has since resigned from the paper over the implications in his involvement, which also led to his resignation as head of communications for the government earlier this year.

Last week it was announced that Coulson had launched his own communications consultancy.
