Huffington Post to launch UK edition
American blogging sensation the Huffington Post is to launch a UK edition this summer, its founder Arianna Huffington has revealed.
AOL, who splashed out $315m to acquire the rights to the site, will again be digging deep to fund the international expansion, recruiting a team of writers and editors to form the core of the new site.
They will be augmented by an army of unpaid bloggers, signed up Huffington to boost content in emulation of its US parent.
AOL chief Tim Armstrong explained the latest venture by noting: “Both companies may be big in the US, but the US only represents 4% of the world's population.”
