Andrew Jaspan launches Australian website The Conversation
The former editor of The Sunday Herald, The Age and The Observer Andrew Jaspan has launched an Australian academic website, which describes itself as ‘an independent source of information, analysis and commentary’ aimed at the university and research sector.
The website, named The Conversation, aims to make academic research accessible to the public, with content provided by a group of academic facilities which are then edited by the team of journalists working on the site.
Jaspan has co-founded the not-for-profit site alongside former US columnist Jack Rejtman and has received funding from a number of Australian universities.
Rejtman will work as general manager for The Conversation, with Jaspan acting as editor.
