The self proclaimed saviour of Radio 1, DJ Chris Moyles, has put a recent spat over non-payment of wages behind him by engaging in a spot of overtime.

Moyles completed a marathon 51.5 hour stint behind the mic with his sidekick “Comedy Dave” from early on Wednesday morning and continued to abuse the airwaves until 08:30 this morning.

The talkathon was aimed at raising money for comic relief, raising just over £1m for the charity thus far.

Moyles celebrated the occasion by indulging in a “light snack” of celebratory cake before getting back to presenting.

It means Moyles is now the proud owner of a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous bout of presenting - anywhere.

The pair were only allowed 5min off per hour for showers and the occasional power nap.
