Motorpoint has bought the naming rights to the Cardiff International Arena for the next five years.

The car supermarket said it had made "a seven-figure investment" to rename the venue the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff.

Not only will the building be rebranded but Motorpoint's logo will also appear on all concern tickets, concert advertising, show leaflets, posters and the venue's new website - motorpointarena.co.uk.

The 7,500 capacity arena has played host to the likes of Oasis, The Killers, Westlife and Lady Gaga. It also hosts sporting events such as Premier League Darts and boxing and receives more than a million visitors a year.

Gary Warren, managing director of Motorpoint, said: "Taking the naming rights will provide Motorpoint with a huge opportunity to promote the brand to potential customers over the next few years across South Wales.”

It is not the first such deal for Motorpoint, which snapped up the naming rights to the Sheffield Arena last August.
