The new guide to showcase Blackpool as a destination for conferences and meetings has been launched with the help of the towns Premier League team manager, Ian Holloway.

The 65-page directory will be mailed to over 500 senior conference and exhibition decision makers across the UK and Ireland, with an emphasis on the investment that has gone into the regeneration of the town, as well as its entertainment and hospitality venues.

Ian Holloway, manager of Blackpool Football Club attended a press launch for the directory in order to show the club’s support.

Holloway commented: “It really gets my goat when people travel from across the country to Blackpool to see a football match and don’t take the opportunity to see the rest of the town.

Holloway added: “The resort is packed with smashing hotels, restaurants, clubs and theatres, plus there are things like Blackpool Tower and the Pleasure Beach that you just can’t find anywhere else in the country. The people are great, the beer’s not bad and we’ve even got a beach. What more do you want if you’re organising a conference?"

Details of many of the town’s businesses are also featured in the directory, which promotes local hotels, as well as eating and drinking venues recommended by the tourism body.
