The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Cleveland, Ohio has hired Liverpool design agency Uniform to help bring its plans for a $27m landmark building to life.

MOCA is looking to generate a swell of support for the planned 34,000 sq ft development, which is due to be completed in Autumn 2012.

It gave Uniform the brief of visualising the plans for the benefit of stakeholders and media. You can see the agency's design in our main picture.

Susan Murray, deputy director at MOCA Cleveland, said: "Being able to show stakeholders the scale and dynamism was important – it had to be impactful.

"We managed to secure national and international articles on the back of the work – the media might not have picked up on the story without this particular approach. We wanted to create the excitement and buzz and make it real.”

Nick Bentley, director of Uniform, said the agency drew on its work with museums and galleries such as the Natural History Museum, Museum of London and Oxford Playhouse.

“We have worked on a number of projects across the world at that crucial fundraising and investment period," Bentley said.
