We Dare, a party game for the Nintendo Wii has had its UK release shelved by publisher UBI Soft following an adverse public reaction.

The title encouraged players to “spank” each other and act out a “flirty striptease” but the choice of platform and a 12+ age certificate caused many eyebrows to become elevated.

That has seen the temperature of UBI Soft’s feet plummet sufficiently to bring about an abrupt u-turn, despite initially downplaying the fuss as being focussed on their questionable marketing strategy as opposed to the innocent cartoon frolics of the game itself.

In the advert a group of twenty something’s were filmed inserting Wii controllers in areas Nintendo are unlikely to have imagined and adopting some risqué poses.
