A spurned lover who took to the internet to keep track of the woman who jilted him has become the first UK citizen to be jailed for the crime of stalking by blog.

Hospital administrator Stephen Andreassen set up 35 blogs which he used to advertise details of his month long affair with Rebecca Pattinson, in order to “warn” other men.

Andreassen, 38, began dating Pattinson, 36, following a stint performing on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square but was ditched four weeks later when he asked Pattinson to view a flat with him.

Not taking no for an answer however Pattinson did what any non self respecting obsessive would and bombarded the focus of his amour with calls, texts, emails and Facebook messages begging to be taken back.

When this account was deactivated Andreassen decided to create his own sites and mounted a failed suicide bid.

Andreassen was jailed for 18 weeks at Manchester’s magistrates court after admitting breaking a restraining order and has been sacked by his employer, Manchester Royal infirmary.
