Newspaper publishers down under have bowed to pressure from the advertising industry and agreed to report daily circulation figures.

The Newspaper Works, a trade body representing the industry, informed the Audit Bureau of Circulations that they intend to make such reports public from July 1.

All the major publishers in the Australasian state have signed up to the agreement, including Rupert Murdoch’s News ltd, Fairfax Media, APN News & Media and West Australian, according to the Australian.

Figures for Saturday and Sunday are already reported individually but this will be the first time that full disclosure of sales data for each individual weekday issue will have been made public.
