The finalists of The Drum Marketing Awards have been decided, with the full list of nominees due to be announced tomorrow. We have here, however, a sneak peak at the agencies in contention for some of the categories, including Marketing Services Company of the Year and New Product / Service Launch Strategy.

The judging for the awards took place on 2 March at the offices of AMV BBDO, with Microsoft CEO Alex Payne presiding over the judges.

Also on the panel were Disney’s Burcin Ergin; Paul Simmons of easyjet; VisitBritain marketing manager Alison Lewis Jones; Trevor Cairns from Umbro; Land Rover’s Mark Beamont; HMV group marketing director Graham Sim; Honda head of marketing Martin Moll; Kathleen Schneider from Dell; and Thomas Cook group brand director Michael Johnson.

Following a record number of entries, the Marketing Services Company of the Year award has six finalists in Ambition, Material, Proctor & Stevenson, Realise, Spring and Strange.

The judges narrowed down the entries for the New Product / Service Launch Strategy category down to a final five, with The Gate’s launch for Airtricity, Savvy Marketing for ASDA, Seventy Seven’s mflow launch, Marketecture for Reed Elsevier and Story’s work on Glenmorangie all set to battle it out at the awards ceremony at the Ramada Jarvis Picadilly in Manchester on 12 May.

Nominations for the Customer Insight award have been narrowed down to Nunwood for its work with Co-operative Financial Services, DC Thomson for its Youth Insight Programme, and Genting UK’s work for its ‘CRM and beyond’. The results for Marketer of the Year meanwhile will be decided by public vote which goes live soon.

The nominations for the rest of the awards are to be announced tomorrow on thedrum.co.uk and thedrummarketingawards.com
