Falmouth-based superyacht makers, Devonport has had its branding improved by Cornish design consultancy Gendall.

Gendall reviewed and refined Devonport’s brand values and created benchmarks for the identity guidelines, advertising, brochure and website.

The new communications aim to retain and build exclusive values of the brand, including its confidentiality, demonstrating that Devonport don’t just build yachts for visionary owners but can realise a new vision for an existing yacht.

“Devonport’s offering had extended and the brand and website needed to reflect this,” explained Jason Salisbury, creative director at Gendall.

“The superyacht market is divided into two service areas – build and refit. Devonport had increased its focus on the latter and this meant that they needed to reposition their brand.

We did this by giving it a more tangible design, that moved away from the previous technical look that appealed to the build market.

The new website, which is editable through a bespoke content management system, has been designed to demonstrate the extent of their capabilities and features a richer depth of information on the company’s skills, craftsmanship, innovation and experience.

Devonport delivers and refits bespoke superyachts – private yachts, usually over 120ft that are so large that they require a private crew to navigate.

The company focuses upon British engineering and is responsible for both the build and refit of six of the World’s ‘Top 100’ superyachts.
