Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park to appear in The Simpsons
Aardman Animations has today announced that Wallace and Gromit creator, Nick Park, is to appear on an episode of The Simpsons, set to be aired in the UK in March.
The episode, “Angry Dad: The Movie”, will see Park guest-voicing as himself, in a storyline that sees Bart win several awards for the movie-version of his “Angry Dad” creation.
In the episode, Park is nominated for an Oscar for his Willice and Grumble short, "Better Gnomes and Gardens", a parody of Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of The Wererabbit.
As one of Bart’s fellow nominees, Park helps Bart to realise that creating a film is a team effort and encourages Bart to give credit where it is due.
A highlight of the episode will be a brief dialogue with Lisa Simpson, during which she shakes Park’s hand, only for his fingers to fall off, with the animator stating: “No worries. I'll just stick 'em back on. I'm more clay than man now.”
An exact date for the episode, which aired in the US last week and also features Russell Brand and Halle Berry, has not yet been announced.
