easyJet launches blog and online community

Budget airline easyJet has launched its first blog and online community in a bid to reach out to existing and new customers.

London agency OMD UK has developed the blog, while the airline recently held a 150-hour "blogger challenge" with UK travel writers to boost its social media presence.

James Lee, marketing manager UK at easyJet, said: "Social platforms are part of everyday life for many of the people who fly with us. It is important that we participate in these platforms and make it as easy as possible for our passengers to engage with us, wherever they are online.

"We are excited to be pushing the boundaries and are always looking for new solutions to integrate everything we do online, with the wider business."

Earlier this week, easyJet Holidays launched its low-cost holiday packages exclusively through Teletext.
