Danny MacAskill, a renegade cyclist who makes a living taking his two wheels as far from the pavement as he can, has now racked up 24m hits on Youtube for his first clip of slaloming along a set of spiked railings.

The eyeball count, five times greater than the population of MacAskill’s native Scotland, comes at a good time for the stuntman, he is promoting a new film designed to showcase the effort that goes into planning each daredevil manoeuvre.

Ironically MacAskill was raised on about the furthest spot in Britain from the setting of most of his urban chicanery, the Isle of Skye.
