Gadget and technology magazine T3 has today announced the launch of its in-app subscription service for its iPad edition.

T3 becomes one of the first magazines in the world to offer subscriptions to its iPad edition, following the launch of the first iPad newspaper ‘The Daily’ and the news that Apple has now allowed in-app magazine subscriptions,.

Since the announcement of the iPad last January, sales of the digital edition of T3, which is owned by Future Publishing, have increased by over 5000%, with the magazine now selling 10,000 digital editions each month.

T3 claims to be the first UK magazine to fully embrace the arrival of the iPad having been the first UK magazine to launch a monthly, paid-for, fully enhanced iPad edition on the Woodwing platform.

Sales of T3: iPad Edition have experienced double digit growth each month since launch, and the title is now regularly listed as the highest grossing lifestyle app in the UK.

“We are now able to offer a selection of value offerings from a free trial and single issue purchase, through to 90, 180 and 360 day subscriptions.

Nial Ferguson, group publishing director of Future’s Technology portfolio said: “We took an early decision to invest in taking T3 onto the iPad in a monthly format, rather than wait and see,” explained Nial Ferguson, Group publishing director of Future’s Technology portfolio.

“We were in Las Vegas in January at the annual Consumer Electronics Show and more recently at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where over 80 new tablet computers were announced and we are now in discussion with many of these companies, exploring the distribution opportunities for T3 and for other Future brands.”

The magazine also reports that its website has seen success, having seen almost 1 million monthly unique users visit the site during the same 12-month period.
