Aardman Animations creations, Wallace and Gromit, have launched a recipe book to mark the duo’s 15-year relationship with The Wensleydale Creamery.

The new recipe book will be available free with 200g packs of Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese from the end of February and features a number of the characters’ cheese dishes.

“It’s wonderful that Wallace & Gromit’s association with The Wensleydale Creamery has flourished for so many years,” said Wallace & Gromit’s creator, Nick Park.

“I’m delighted they’ve at last joined the exclusive list of celebrity chefs with their own cookbook. It’s grate!”

Wallace & Gromit became synonymous with Wensleydale cheese in 1989 when, during the Oscar-nominated film ‘A Grand Day Out’, they land on the moon to find that it is made of cheese but, much to Wallace’s disappointment, not his favourite Wensleydale.

“Wallace and Gromit have played a key role in helping save The Creamery that produces the iconic British cheese, explained David Hartley, Managing Director of Wensleydale Dairy Products.

“Its Yorkshire heritage dates back more than 1,000 years and the association with Wallace & Gromit have contributed significantly to its success in more recent times.”

The promotion will launch in Morrisons on 21 February and will continue to roll out across other stores.
