Highland Spring is to end its long running sponsorship of Britain’s top tennis player, Andy Murray and his brother Jamie, as they begin to seek new commercial partners.

The bottled water brand, which has sponsored the pair since 2006, has chosen not to renew its deal, leaving Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment to find new partners.

It is understood that Royal Bank of Scotland may be one potential brand, with Murray possibly fronting a tennis-themed campaign for the bank.

Andy Murray’s deal with Adidas and his racket supplier Head are unaffected.

Meanwhile, Highland Spring has said that it will now look to concentrate its sponsorship portfolio on nurturing grassroots tennis and events across the UK.

Sally Stanley, group marketing director at Highland Spring said: “We have been privileged to work alongside Andy and Jamie over the past four years and delighted with the results we have achieved together. Highland Spring is committed to investing in British tennis through our partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association for many years to come. We wish Andy and Jamie the greatest success in their tennis careers and we will continue to be big fans.”

The final promotion from Highland Spring to feature Murray was an on-pack promotion called 'I want the best seat'.

Last year, Highland Spring launched tennis roadshow 'Highland Spring Hot Shots', which toured the UK, while it has also this month agreed a deal with Scottish Rugby to become its official water supplier.
