Cheltenham-based packaging design consultancy flb, which has created brands of companies including Asda, Kenwood, MIRA and Danone, has rebranded itself as BoS:

The development of the new name, which stands for Brand on Shelf, follows a senior management decision to better reflect the global nature of the design work that the company undertakes.

As well as the new name, the company has also developed a new identity, web site and has refurbished the building.

“Bos: reflects the essence of what we do today,” explained company co-owner, Colin Mechan.

“Our brilliant team of designers and creatives are responsible in the main for our clients’ 'Brand on Shelf' – hence Bos:.”

“We already create branded packaging that gives confidence and strength where it matters most: to customers searching on retailers’ shelves. It was time to relaunch our company with a name that clearly reflects what it is that we do so well.”

The company, which works with a range of branded and retail clients, was established as Fisher Ling and Bennion in 1977 and was bought out by Guy Douglass and Colin Mechan in 2008.

The rebrand was partly initiated due to the fact that the original company namesakes had not been involved in the management of the business for over 10 years.
