The Co-operative Group has created a Valentine's version of its 'Passionate Plea' TV ad campaign.

The new ad, again created by TBWA\Manchester, promotes the Co-op's food range and focuses on a man reassuring his partner that he has Valentine's Day taken care of.

The ad runs nationally from today until Valentine's Day and will be supported by an online display campaign linking through to The Co-operative's website, where there will be offers and a competition.

Radio promotions and point-of-sale displays will be used in Co-op's convenience stores.

Fergus McCallum, CEO of TBWA\Manchester, said: “The overarching theme of the new Co-operative Food campaign is about the desire to enjoy free time doing the things that are really important and that you love.

"The latest advert follows this theme by reminding customers in a relevant and believable way to make time to do something very special and personal for a loved one this Valentine’s Day.”

This new creative is part of a bigger Co-operative Food campaign which launched in January and coincided with the retailer taking up a year-long sponsorship of ITV National Weather.

TBWA\Manchester handles The Co-op's creative account for its food, funerals, travel, pharmacy, motoring and legal services brands.
