Latest @North commission sees Numiko develop 'Grown Up' section for CBeebies site
The final new commission from the @North initiative has been announced, with Numiko commissioned to develop a Grown Ups section for the CBeebies site.
The commission was announced by BBC North director Peter Salmon earlier today and will see the Grown Ups section of the site support parents and carers, with new content being developed by the agency to offer tools that will help grown-ups enjoy the CBeebies brand.
New content by Numiko will begin to appear on the site later this year, and brings the investment put into new digital content by @North to £500,000.
This is the second commission won by Numiko through the fund, as the agency is currently developing an online sound-activated game for 2-4 year olds.
Peter Salmon said: "Through @North we have now invested half a million pounds into small creative Northern companies, which is an important part of BBC North's commitment to find new opportunities for the creative economy right across the North of England."
He added: "The aim of @North was to discover, nurture and support creative relationships specifically across the North of England that would bring the world of CBeebies and CBBC to life online and I congratulate Numiko on winning a second commission."
Meanwhile, a range of interactive games has been designed by The Workshop to tie into a new series being filmed in Manchester and Stockport; Mr Bloom’s Nursery.
The programme will explore a variety of themes that will help children understand the world around them, with the games featuring the heading ‘Veggie Playtime’ including Compo’s Rain Catcher, Ready Veggie Pull and Speedy Weeds being found on the programme’s dedicated website.
The development of the games were also funded by @North.
