A new mobile site launched by STV Jobs aims to make job hunting a faster and easier experience.

Job hunters with internet enabled phones will now have full access to STV Jobs via their handset, with the site designed to automatically identify what type of mobile device is being used and instantly show the best format for that particular model. It also features an elegant design built for speed, even on slower connections.

The site allows job searching on the move, with the ability to apply for jobs directly from the website using their previously created profiles and stored CVs. Alternatively users can email themselves job details and apply later.

The STV Jobs site has recorded a substantial increase in numbers of users accessing via mobile devices, with a 50% rise between the first and second half of 2010. The new mobile site is expected to further increase this.

STV head of classified Mike Ferguson said of the new site: “The STV Jobs mobile site has been developed as part of our commitment to mobile technology and the STV Anywhere strategy, striving to make STV’s content available to our audience anytime, anywhere.”

The mobile site has been developed for STV by job board specialists Madgex, and Madgex CEO Simon Conroy commented: "The mobile interface allows job seekers to search or browse for jobs based on various search criteria such as sector, location and salary band. Once the user has found a relevant job they can view the job details and apply directly from their handset. When applying for a job on the mobile site, users will simply need to enter their email address and password to complete their application."
