Visit Manchester has tasked Amaze PR with promoting the regions modern history.

Through a PR campaign, Amaze will work alongside visitor attractions, venues and tourist boards across the North West to boost visitor numbers, overnight stays and revenue.

The campaign will run until March 2012, with the agency tasked with raising the profile of the region’s industry heritage to UK, European and international visitors, targeting journalists and bloggers, while also acting as a press office.

A number of creative project supporting the campaign will also be devised.

Sandra McDowell, managing partner for Amaze PR, said: “The North West was at the heart of the industrial revolution, leading the world and transforming society, business and industry through invention and innovation.

“The Modern History campaign presents a fantastic opportunity for us because it allows us to combine our knowledge of digital audiences with traditional PR skills to let people know far and wide the story of the industrial revolution in the North West and as a result boost visitor numbers, spend and overnight stays.

“These events form part of an ongoing story and we will be working closely with the in-house team at Visit Manchester to highlight the events which took place in the North West and their relevance on the modern world.”
