ITN Productions has launched a YouTube channel devoted solely to providing video content ahead of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The channel will be maintained on a daily basis and feature new content grouped around five themes: The Wedding Day, News, All About William & Kate, Royal Tradition and Fun & Quirky, while a mobile app to support the channel is also in the works.

Mark Browning, managing director of ITN Productions, commented: "ITN Productions will be following the royal wedding every step of the way between now and April 29.”

He continued: "We'll be bringing viewers exclusive content on royal wedding preparations, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at this multi-million pound event, steeped in centuries of tradition and which the eyes of the world will be watching."

Meanwhile, The Queen’s annual Christmas message broadcast will now be produced by Sky News, which will share the programme with both BBC and ITV.

The deal sees Sky produce the broadcast for this year and next, and is the first time that the broadcaster will have done so, with ITV having been responsible for 2009 and last year.

Simon Cole, deputy head of Sky News, commented: “Sky News approached Buckingham Palace last year and are thrilled to be part of the Queen’s Christmas Broadcast.

“It is a great honour for us to be able to produce and distribute the address, especially over the next two years in which we will see the marriages of Prince William to Kate Middleton and Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic Games," he continued.
